Small breadcrumbs
drawn from God's Word,
who help me in my spiritual life.
Hopefully they help you too.
Which comes first:
God's Desire Above!
It is God's desire to be honored and praised before His Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. That is why we have become a nation of priests, to magnify God. He is looking for people who 'worship Him in Spirit and truth'.
Offering God from our hearts, offerings of praise and thanksgiving, is the highest thing we can do for Him. He longs for it and calls it 'my food' (Leviticus 3 and 21)

Sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving for the work of Christ on Calvary's cross, God calls 'My food'.
How big is that!
Christ and His Cross
You can only honor God as a human if you know that His Son, Jesus Christ, died for you on the cross of Calvary. There He bore the righteous judgment of a holy God in my stead. So that God may turn away His righteous wrath from me, forgive me, and accept me as His child.
The Christian life begins with and at the cross of Christ and that cross must remain central to all of life.

The cross of Christ is the beginning of the Christian life and must remain its center after that.
One day not believed
a day wasted.
God longed to dwell with His people, and one of the most important things—if not the most important—was that a burnt offering was continually offered on the altar. The Lord God desired and longs to be constantly reminded of His Son and the Sacrifice He made. It is a sweet-smelling savor to Him.
Wouldn't we then, every day, continually express our thanks to Him? “Making spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ”?
You could say: a day not believed is a day not lived.

A day not believed is a day not lived.

Our offering of praise and thanksgiving is fragrant to God only when it comes from admiration for the Lord Jesus and His crucifixion. The Lord Jesus said it: “No one comes to the Father except through Me”. The incense offering in the tabernacle was to be kindled by the fire of the burnt offering. Our thanks and praise to God must always originate in the work of Christ. Without it we cannot draw near to God. Nadab and Abihu, sons of Aaron, offered the incense offering with 'strange fire' and unfortunately suffered the consequences (Leviticus 10:1-7)

God is extremely selective: only Christ, the Crucified!
Everything comes together at the Cross!
When I think of the cross of Christ, everything comes together. On the one hand, who I am as a person of myself; a lost sinner. But also God's goodness and love who sent His Son to atone for my sins. And of course also the Lord Jesus Christ Himself who has become the only true Sacrifice; Sacrificed Himself that I might partake of His glory.
And all this not only for me, but for so many who have accepted Him! And how will Israel be blessed if they receive Him 'whom they pierced'.
When I think of the cross of Christ, do I not have infinitely much to give thanks and praise for?

Everything comes together at the Cross. When I think of that, I have infinitely much to thank and praise for!
The best for your own soul…
When we make sacrifices of praise and thanksgiving to God, we are giving Him the best He desires—our thanks and love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Wouldn't this also be the very best for myself – my own soul? Not human therapy, but God medicine for my soul!
“My lips will praise You. So will I praise You in my life. In Your Name I will lift up my hands. My soul shall be filled as with fat and plenty; my mouth will boast with lips singing joyfully” (Psalm 63:4-6)

Praise God is best for your own soul!
Speaking of the Son . . .
God has brought to us in these last days spoken in Son (Hebrews 1:1-3).
He it is through whom we may draw near to God To serve Him in a way pleasing to Him with reverence and awe (Hebrews 12:28).
Let's always through him offer a sacrifice of praise to God, namely, the fruit of the lips that confess His name (Hebrews 13:15). In short: the thanks and love for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

God spoke to us in Son that we might serve Him and speak to Him about His Son!
Speaking of the Word…
God does not speak unclear language.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. This was with God in the beginning. All things were made by the Word, and without this Word not a thing was made that was made.” (John 1:1-3)
“What was from the beginning, what we heard, what we saw with our eyes, what we beheld, and our hands touched of the word of lifes” (1 John 1:1)
Everything that is made shows Who made it: the Word of God!
He is the One who also became man: the 'Word of life'.
He, the Word, alone gives meaning, order and meaning to life.
It is no wonder, then, that Satan has cast doubt on the Word of God from the beginning and continues to do so (Genesis 3:1).

Only the Word of God gives meaning, order and meaning to life.
Am I a friend of Daniel?
“(…) Be it known to you, O king, that we will not worship your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up.” (Daniel 3:18)

Control your mind:
“Like a city broken open without a wall, so is a man who doesn't control his mind.”
(Proverbs 25:28)
“A fool lets all his mind run wild, but a wise man keeps it in check.”
(Proverbs 29:11)

I will sing to the Lord in my life,
I will sing psalms to my God all my life.
My meditation of Him shall be pleasing,
I will rejoice in the Lord.
Psalm 104 : 33, 34
Praise the Lord every day,
Bringing to Him every day my offerings of praise and thanks,
isn't that a bit exaggerated? Not according to David:

Every day I will praise you
and praise Your name forever and ever.
The Lord is great and greatly to be praised,
His greatness is unfathomable.
— Psalm 145:2,3 —

If this is true in the end, how should this beJesus died for me' not predominate during life?
On Repentance and Rebirth
Repentance is a complete change of mind.
– think differently about God
– think differently about sin
– think differently about yourself and
accept what God's Word says about it.Then you must be saved by the Lord Jesus Christ
personal as your Savior and believe in Him.Then you receive from God the Holy Spirit indwelling and
are you born again:
a child of God!

The LORD is good,
He is for a stronghold in the day of trouble.
He knows those who take refuge in Him.
Nahum 1:7

“We live in trust in God;
what is to come is not yet visible”
